The AGF-API aerogel film is composed of a 25-50 \u03bcm thick polyimide (PI) film substrate laminated with an aerogel coating, available in standard thicknesses of 100-300 \u03bcm. Designed for high-temperature applications, the PI film withstands continuous temperatures up to 220\u00b0C, enabling stable operation from -20\u00b0C to 220\u00b0C\u2014far exceeding typical polymer substrates. The PI film offers excellent tensile strength, tear resistance, and strong acid and alkali corrosion resistance, making it ideal for harsh environment insulation.<\/p>

The aerogel coating is tightly bonded to the PI film through advanced processing, ensuring no delamination or powder loss under prolonged high temperatures. With a low dielectric constant of 3.5 (at 1 MHz), this film provides both insulation and thermal barrier functions. It is suitable for use as high-temperature insulation in motor windings and high-voltage cable joints.     Anchor Aerogel bonds the aerogel coating to 25 or 50 \u03bcm PI film on its own processing lines, with lamination control aimed at preventing delamination and powder loss under sustained heat. We support industrial and electronics buyers from technical specification review through sampling and series supply, including laser-cut or molded samples made to your drawings for fit verification. Custom thickness within 50-400 \u03bcm, substrate gauge selection, and project packaging are part of standard project handling. Technical documentation such as the current TDS is available on request to support supplier qualification, incoming inspection, and design validation work on your side.<\/p>

    Engineering Boundaries & Custom Options<\/h3>

    AGF-API is the high-temperature substrate option in the AGF family: choose it when continuous service above roughly 120\u00b0C rules out PET-based films. Its published continuous operating range is -20 to 230\u00b0C, and the dielectric constant of 3.5 at 1 MHz supports combined thermal-electrical insulation roles. Note that it ships without adhesive or liner, so fixing and surface protection are the assembler's responsibility. Thermal conductivity is quoted for the aerogel layer only; compute stack resistance from total thickness.
