Product Description

The AKRBS-1-T Flexible Aerogel Blanket uses fiberglass as a reinforcement material, combined with silica aerogel and added light-blocking agents. It is manufactured through sol-gel and supercritical drying processes, resulting in a flexible, high-performance thermal insulation composite. This product offers excellent thermal insulation, strong hydrophobicity, Class A fire resistance, non-toxic and environmentally friendly properties, and long service life. It is widely applicable for thermal insulation in petrochemical pipelines, heat pipes, storage tanks, armored vehicles, modular enclosures, new energy batteries, and energy-efficient buildings.

Product Features

  1. Lightweight

Aerogel has a nanoporous structure with a very high porosity (up to over 99%), resulting in a low density for the aerogel composite material.

  1. High Temperature Resistance

The material is reinforced with fiberglass and silica aerogel, both primarily composed of SiO₂, allowing for a maximum operating temperature of up to 650°C.

  1. Low Thermal Conductivity

Featuring a nanoporous network structure, this material incorporates light-blocking agents to reduce thermal conductivity at high temperatures, enhancing insulation performance by approximately 25% compared to similar products without additives, with greater advantages at elevated temperatures.

  1. Super Hydrophobic

Its strong hydrophobicity prevents water absorption that could compromise performance, extending the material’s service life.

  1. Flame Retardant

Composed of inorganic materials with low organic content, the product is inherently non-flammable and meets Class A fire resistance standards, providing excellent flame retardancy.

  1. Long Service Life, Eco-Friendly and Non-Toxic

With an inorganic composition, it withstands most acidic and alkaline environments, offers excellent mechanical properties, is reusable, and has a service life of over 15 years.

Working Principle

Silica aerogel has a continuous, irregular, microporous network structure, with both colloidal particles and pore structures at the nanometer scale. The colloidal particles are connected by Si-O-Si chemical bonds, forming a network skeleton, with the skeleton’s pores filled with a dispersed gas medium. This nanoporous structure and nanocolloidal particles create multiple thermal barrier effects, a nanoscale skeleton heat-blocking effect, and a zero-convection effect, effectively preventing and obstructing heat conduction.

 

Incorporating fiberglass into the aerogel enhances the material’s mechanical performance and processability, giving it both low thermal conductivity and a certain degree of mechanical strength. Additionally, light-blocking agents are introduced, leveraging their strong scattering and absorption of radiation to effectively suppress high-temperature radiative heat transfer, significantly improving the high-temperature insulation performance of the aerogel composite material.

Usage Precautions
