AGF-N Pure Aerogel Film | Ultra-thin Insulation

AGF-N Pure Aerogel Insulation Film -Anchor Tech

Product Description

Pure Aerogel Insulation Film (AGF-N) is a pure aerogel coating with no substrate, available in standard thicknesses ranging from 500 to 3000 microns. With an ultra-low thermal conductivity of 0.018–0.024 W/(m·K), it provides 3–4 times better insulation than traditional materials. It effectively blocks heat transfer across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 300°C.

As a pure aerogel coating, AGF-N’s key advantages lie in its exceptional thermal insulation and ultra-thin profile. Even at just 500 microns thick, it delivers insulation performance several times greater than conventional materials.

Using a specialized bonding process, the aerogel coating forms a fully integrated insulation layer. Its internal nano-particle network is tightly cross-linked, ensuring long-term durability without powder shedding or vibration-related failures—issues commonly seen in traditional powdered insulation. The substrate-free design also allows for higher temperature tolerance, eliminating the residue problems caused by substrate degradation and achieving the optimal balance between high-temperature performance, thinness, and insulation efficiency.

Manufacturer & Engineering Notes

Manufacturing & Project Experience

Anchor Aerogel forms AGF-N as a pure, cross-linked aerogel coating on its own production lines, using a specialized bonding process to integrate the nano-particle network into a durable, powder-free layer. We support overseas buyers from thickness selection and drawing review through sampling and repeat supply, with thickness customizable across 500-3000 μm and rolls sized to project needs. Samples can be prepared for application testing, including high-temperature evaluation up to the published 300°C continuous range. Export packaging is standard on shipments, and current technical documentation, including the TDS, is available on request for your qualification files.

Engineering Boundaries & Custom Options

AGF-N trades mechanical reinforcement for performance: at 0.018-0.024 W/(m·K) it offers the lowest thermal conductivity in the AGF family and the widest temperature window (-40 to 300°C continuous), but without a substrate it needs careful handling and an assembly-provided fixing method. Standard thickness runs 500-3000 μm, thicker than the substrate-based films, so check gap budget before specifying. Dielectric strength of ≥6 kV/mm is the family's highest published figure, though still a typical value to confirm in the current TDS. No UL94 rating is published; designs with formal flammability requirements need separate verification with the factory.

Frequently Asked Questions about AGF-N Pure Aerogel Film

Technical answers for overseas buyers, engineers, and project specifiers. For project-critical values, request the current TDS before final design.

AGF-N is a pure aerogel coating with no substrate, available in standard thicknesses from 500 to 3000 μm. Using a specialized bonding process, the coating forms a fully integrated insulation layer whose internal nano-particle network is tightly cross-linked, giving long-term durability without the powder shedding or vibration-related failures seen in traditional powdered insulation. Its thermal conductivity is 0.018-0.024 W/(m·K), delivering insulation performance described as three to four times better than traditional materials. Even at 500 μm, it provides meaningful thermal resistance, and the substrate-free design removes the temperature limits and residue problems associated with substrate degradation.

The specification table lists a temperature resistance range of -40 to 320°C and a continuous operating temperature of -40 to 300°C for AGF-N – the widest window in the AGF family, enabled by the absence of any polymer or metal substrate. This makes it suitable for both cryogenic-leaning and high-temperature environments within that span. As with any insulation layer, performance near the boundaries should be validated on the actual assembly, particularly where mechanical load, vibration, or thermal cycling is present. Confirm the values applicable to your lot in the current TDS before using them as formal design inputs.

Manufacturer-listed applications include wearable devices, smartphones, laptops, tablets, OLED displays, smart TVs, digital cameras, and consumer electronics, where AGF-N’s thin profile adds insulation in confined spaces. Beyond consumer devices, its 300°C continuous rating and substrate-free construction suit higher-temperature insulation points where polymer-based films cannot operate and where substrate degradation residues would be unacceptable. The film is flexible, resists cracking after application, and withstands repeated bending, so it can be applied to complex surfaces. Dielectric strength is rated at ≥6 kV/mm with volume resistivity ≥1.0×10¹³ Ω·cm, supporting combined thermal and electrical insulation roles.

Yes. AGF-N is supplied in rolls with customizable size, and thickness is customizable across the 500-3000 μm range. The coating design is described as easily cut and applied to complex surfaces, with flexibility that resists cracking after application and tolerates repeated bending. For OEM programs, buyers can submit drawings so the factory can confirm achievable tolerances and propose roll widths, sheets, or pre-cut formats matched to the assembly process. Samples for engineering evaluation can be arranged ahead of production orders. Because the film has no substrate reinforcement, handling and converting practices should follow the factory’s guidance to keep edges clean.

Because AGF-N has no substrate, it lacks the tensile reinforcement that PET-, PI-, or foil-based constructions provide, so it should not be stretched, folded sharply, or exposed to abrasive contact during handling and installation; fixing is by your assembly method, as no adhesive or liner is included. No UL94 flame rating is published for this model. Electrical ratings (≥6 kV/mm dielectric strength, ≥1.0×10¹³ Ω·cm) are typical published values – confirm the current TDS for safety-relevant positions. Store in a dry, room-temperature environment; the published shelf life is three years, and rolls should be kept sealed until use to protect the surface.
