AGF-APDR Self-Adhesive PET Aerogel Film with Release Liner
Product Description
AGF-APDR Aerogel Film is a high-performance thermal insulation material featuring a composite structure of aerogel coating + 5μm PET film + 10μm double-sided adhesive + release liner. It is available in thicknesses ranging from 50 to 300 microns. With built-in adhesive functionality, it is designed for easy and convenient installation across various applications.
The double-sided adhesive layer offers excellent adhesion, allowing direct bonding to metal, plastic, glass, and other surfaces once the release liner is removed. This enables quick, tool-free installation, making it ideal for electronics, household appliances, and electronic components, especially in confined spaces or scenarios requiring efficient thermal management.
The aerogel coating has a smooth, dust-free surface with no odor and remains stable and reliable at both room and elevated temperatures. The adhesive layer maintains strong bonding without softening or peeling between -20℃ and 220℃, ensuring long-term stable insulation performance.
With a low thermal conductivity of 0.022–0.026 W/(m·K), far below traditional insulation materials, this aerogel film delivers excellent heat insulation while saving space, making it the perfect choice for 3C electronics, precision electronic devices, appliances, and various thermal management applications.

Manufacturer & Engineering Notes
Manufacturing & Project Experience
Anchor Aerogel coats and laminates AGF-APDR on its own production lines, combining the aerogel coating with the PET-carried double-sided adhesive and release liner in one controlled process. Our team handles overseas B2B projects from technical inquiry and drawing review through sampling and scaled supply, and can prepare roll samples or die-cut pieces for pilot-line verification. Thickness customization within 50-400 μm, roll width adjustment, and project-specific packaging are all part of routine project handling. Current technical documentation, including the TDS, is available on request to support your supplier qualification and incoming inspection procedures.
Engineering Boundaries & Custom Options
AGF-APDR differs from PET-covered constructions in that the aerogel coating is the exposed face, so handling that avoids scratching the coated surface is advised. Standard gauges are 50, 100, 200, and 300 μm, with custom thicknesses available; the quoted thermal conductivity applies to the aerogel layer only. The specification table's continuous operating range is -20 to 120°C, which should take precedence over wider descriptive claims when setting design margins. No UL94 flame rating is published for this model, and electrical values are typical figures - please confirm the current TDS and run application-level testing for critical positions.
Frequently Asked Questions about AGF-APDR Self-Adhesive Aerogel Film
Technical answers for overseas buyers, engineers, and project specifiers. For project-critical values, request the current TDS before final design.
AGF-APDR is built as an aerogel coating combined with a 5 μm PET carrier, a 10 μm double-sided adhesive, and a release liner – a 15 μm adhesive complex in total. Unlike constructions with a PET cover on the outside, the aerogel coating faces outward here, while the thin PET-reinforced adhesive provides tear resistance and direct bonding to metal, plastic, and glass once the liner is removed. The aerogel layer’s thermal conductivity is 0.022-0.026 W/(m·K). Standard thicknesses are 50±10, 100±10, 200±20, and 300±20 μm, customizable within 50-400 μm.
AGF-APDR is positioned for thermal management in electronics, household appliances, and electronic components, especially in confined spaces that need efficient insulation with fast, tool-free installation. Manufacturer-listed applications include wearable devices, smartphones, laptops, tablets, OLED displays, smart TVs, digital cameras, and consumer electronics. The aerogel surface is smooth, dust-free, and odorless, remaining stable at room and elevated temperatures, which allows it to sit directly against internal structures. Its flexible cutting behavior also makes it suitable for curved and irregular surfaces common in compact device housings and battery-adjacent insulation points.
The published specification table gives AGF-APDR a temperature resistance range of -40 to 130°C and a continuous operating temperature of -20 to 120°C. The product description additionally states that the adhesive layer keeps strong bonding without softening or peeling across a wide temperature span. Where the descriptive text and the table differ, engineers should design to the continuous operating window of -20 to 120°C and confirm the applicable rating in the current TDS. For assemblies that see repeated thermal cycling or sustained heat near the limit, on-assembly validation is recommended before releasing the design to production.
Yes. AGF-APDR is supplied in rolls with customizable size, and thickness can be tailored between 50 and 400 μm beyond the four standard gauges. The construction is described as flexible for cutting and suitable for curved and irregular surfaces, so it converts well into die-cut shapes, strips, or sheets matched to component outlines. Buyers can submit drawings or CAD files so the factory can confirm achievable tolerances, adhesive coverage, and liner style for the intended assembly process. Sample quantities for pilot-line evaluation can be arranged before committing to production volumes.
Store AGF-APDR in a dry, room-temperature environment; the published shelf life is three years. On the line, keep the release liner in place until just before bonding, and apply the film to clean, dry surfaces free of oil and dust to secure full adhesive contact. The self-adhesive design removes the need for additional glue or fixtures, which shortens takt time. Electrically, the film carries a dielectric strength of ≥4 kV/mm and volume resistivity of ≥1.0×10¹³ Ω·cm as typical values, so it can double as an insulating layer; confirm current figures in the TDS for safety-relevant positions.
