Reinforced Fiberglass Aerogel Blanket (AG90 Plus)
Product Description
The Reinforced Fiberglass Aerogel Blanket (AG90 Plus) is a high-performance thermal insulation composite material reinforced with High-performance Glass Fiber Mat, combined with silica aerogel and an added light-blocking agent. It is manufactured through advanced processes such as sol-gel technology and supercritical drying.
The product features excellent thermal insulation performance, superior hydrophobicity, Class A fire rating, non-toxicity, environmental friendliness, and long service life. It is widely used for thermal insulation in petrochemical pipelines, district heating pipelines, storage tanks, armored vehicles, modular shelters, new energy batteries, and energy-efficient buildings.
Working Principle
Silica aerogel features a continuous, irregular nanoporous network structure, with both colloidal particles and pores at the nanometer scale. The colloidal particles are interconnected by Si–O–Si chemical bonds, forming a three-dimensional network skeleton, while the pores are filled with gaseous dispersing media.
This nanostructure—comprising nanopores and nanocolloidal particles—produces multiple thermal resistance effects, including the multi-barrier effect, nano-skeleton heat resistance effect, and near-zero convection effect, effectively blocking and impeding heat transfer.
By incorporating inorganic High-performance Glass Fiber Mat into the aerogel, the mechanical strength and processability of the material are enhanced, resulting in a composite with both extremely low thermal conductivity and sufficient mechanical strength. Additionally, the introduction of a light-blocking agent takes advantage of its strong radiation scattering and absorption properties, effectively suppressing high-temperature radiative heat transfer and significantly improving the high-temperature thermal insulation performance of the aerogel composite.
Product Features
1.Lightweight:
Aerogel has a nanoporous structure with extremely high porosity (up to over 99%), resulting in a composite material with very low density.
2.High Temperature Resistance:
The material is reinforced with ceramic fiber–enhanced silica aerogel, with a maximum service temperature of up to 900°C.
3.Low Thermal Conductivity:
The nanoporous network structure, combined with the addition of a light-blocking agent, reduces high-temperature thermal conductivity. Compared with similar products without the additive, thermal insulation performance is improved by approximately 25%, with even greater advantages at elevated temperatures.
4.Super Hydrophobicity:
The material exhibits excellent water repellency, preventing moisture ingress and insulation failure, thereby extending service life.
5.Flame Retardancy:
As an inorganic material with low organic content, it is inherently non-combustible. The product achieves Class A fire rating, offering excellent flame-retardant performance.
6.Long Service Life, Environmentally Friendly and Non-Toxic:
Composed mainly of inorganic materials, it can withstand most acidic and alkaline environments over long periods. The material has excellent mechanical properties, can be reused, and provides a service life of over 15 years.

Manufacturer & Engineering Notes
Manufacturing & Project Experience
Anchor Aerogel manufactures AG90 Plus in-house using sol-gel synthesis and supercritical drying, the same process route applied across our high-temperature blanket line. We routinely support EPC contractors and equipment OEMs with project-scale orders: material samples for qualification testing, cut-to-size pieces against supplied drawings, and technical review of pipe, tank, and enclosure insulation layouts. Where a project specification references particular GB/T test methods, our team can align the delivered documentation accordingly. Values not shown on this page, such as dimensional tolerances or roll lengths, are confirmed in the current TDS before order acceptance.
Engineering Boundaries & Custom Options
AG90 Plus is offered in standard 3/6/10 mm thicknesses at 1500 mm width, with both dimensions customizable for project requirements. Its performance boundary is defined by the 900°C maximum service temperature and the conductivity values measured at 25/300/500°C; designs outside these published points require engineering review. The material is hydrophobic and Class A2 rated, but it is not a structural layer and must not be used as load-bearing insulation. Long-term performance assumes the product is kept free of oil, water, and organic solvents during and after installation, per the stated precautions.

Precautions for Use
1.When installing the product, please wear a dust mask and rubber gloves.
2.During installation, keep the product clean and dry. Avoid contact with oil, water, or other organic solvents.
3.When cutting and fitting the product, ensure that the cutting tools are sharp to prevent cracking or delamination during the cutting process.
Frequently Asked Questions about Reinforced Aerogel Blanket (AG90 Plus)
Technical answers for overseas buyers, engineers, and project specifiers. For project-critical values, request the current TDS before final design.
AG90 Plus is specified for high-temperature thermal insulation on petrochemical pipelines, district heating pipelines, storage tanks, armored vehicles, modular shelters, new energy battery systems, and energy-efficient building envelopes. Because a light-blocking agent is dispersed in the aerogel matrix, the blanket suppresses radiative heat transfer at elevated temperatures, which makes it particularly suitable where service temperatures approach 900°C and installation space is restricted. For duty conditions involving sustained temperatures, cycling, or vibration, share your operating parameters with our engineers so thickness and layer configuration can be confirmed against the current TDS.
AG90 Plus is a composite of silica aerogel and a high-performance glass fiber mat, produced through sol-gel processing followed by supercritical drying. The inorganic fiber mat carries the aerogel phase and gives the blanket its handling strength and processability, while the aerogel’s nanoporous network delivers the low thermal conductivity. Published density is 0.16-0.22 g/cm3 (GB/T 34336-2017), with compression recovery of at least 90% and vibration mass loss of 1% or less, which supports use on piping and equipment subject to mechanical movement.
The published maximum service temperature is 900°C. Measured thermal conductivity is 0.021 W/(m·K) or less at 25°C (GB/T 10295-2008), 0.030 W/(m·K) or less at 300°C, and 0.050 W/(m·K) or less at 500°C (GB/T 10294-2008). The added light-blocking agent improves high-temperature insulation performance by approximately 25% compared with similar aerogel composites without the additive, with the advantage growing as temperature rises. Values should always be confirmed against the current TDS before thermal design calculations are finalized.
Standard thicknesses are 3 mm, 6 mm, and 10 mm, with a standard width of 1500 mm; both thickness and width are listed as customizable. Rolls or cut pieces can be discussed for project orders, and multi-layer builds are common when a single 10 mm layer cannot meet the required surface temperature or heat-loss target. Dimensional tolerances are not published on this page, so where tight fit-up is required, please confirm the applicable tolerance, roll length, and cutting allowance in the current TDS or purchase specification before ordering.
Wear a dust mask and rubber gloves during installation, keep the material clean and dry, and avoid contact with oil, water, or organic solvents, which can degrade insulation performance. Use sharp cutting tools to prevent cracking or delamination at cut edges. The blanket is hydrophobic and achieves a Class A2 fire rating (GB 8624-2012), but it is a non-load-bearing insulation layer: cladding, jacketing, or banding must be provided by the system designer. For outdoor or washdown service, confirm weather protection details with the project specification.
